How can it be, this awesome God
Sees such as me, and gives me love?
I’ve been so bad, what can I do?
Father - help me know You.
My wounded heart cries out in pain,
Meet me in my deepest need.
You know I want to start again,
Help me follow where You lead. |
|
As I reach out, You take my hand,
You hear me cry, You understand.
You give me love, You give me hope.
Father - help me know You.
Father- help me know You,
Father- I need to know You.

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 NASB

Notes
Inspiration
for
new
songs
comes
from
many
different
sources.
The
inspiration
for
this
song
came
from
a
leaflet
about
prayer.
It
spoke
about
the
need
to
set
aside
time
and
space
to
seek
God
in
prayer,
and
so I
did
just
that
– I
set
aside
some
time
to
spend
with
God
and
to
listen
to
Him.
As I
waited
quietly
and
expectantly,
some
words
began
to
form
in
my
mind:
“I
need
a
space,
Time
set
apart,
To
seek
Your
face,
To
find
Your
heart……”
This
song
is
deliberately
raw
and
brash
– it
describes
the
feelings
of
someone
who
is
lost
and
despairing,
their
life
seemingly
trapped
in a
downward
spiral,
maybe
as
the
result
of
bad
decisions
and
personal
mistakes
that
they
now
regret
-
someone
“hiding
in
the
night”,
full
of
darkness
and
hopelessness.
Ashamed,
they
think
they
are
just
too
“bad”
and
yet,
there
is a
glimmer
of
hope
- as
they
cry
out
to
God,
He
reaches
out
to
them,
drawing
them
to
the
Father’s
heart.
Sooner
or
later,
we
are
all
faced
with
our
own
failings
–
our
sins
-
but
as
we
reach
out
to
God,
He
reaches
out
to
us
and
however
“bad”
we
may
feel,
by
His
mercy
through
Jesus
He
offers
us
forgiveness,
and
His
grace
is
able
to
meet
us
in
our
need.
“If
we
say
that
we
have
no
sin,
we
are
deceiving
ourselves
and
the
truth
is
not
in
us.
If
we
confess
our
sins,
He
is
faithful
and
righteous
to
forgive
us
our
sins
and
to
cleanse
us
from
all
unrighteousness.”

John
1:
8, 9 NASB
When
Jesus
spoke
again
to
the
people,
he
said,
"I
am
the
light
of
the
world.
Whoever
follows
me
will
never
walk
in
darkness,
but
will
have
the
light
of
life."

8:12 NIV
