It
was
December
2002
and
I
was
sitting
at
home
one
Sunday
morning,
rather
than
going
to
church,
as I
had
not
been
feeling
well.
I
sat
down
to
pray
and
I
began
to
sense
“in
my
mind’s
eye”
that
I
was
in
front
of a
wide
open
gateway
– it
seemed
to
be
the
entrance
to
heaven.
There
was
no
gate,
just
a
wide
opening.
A
warm
breeze
was
gently
blowing
– I
almost
felt
it
on
my
face
–
like
a
warm,
spring
morning.
There
seemed
to
be
no
barrier
between
me
and
heaven
– I
had
open
access
to
the
Father,
all
I
had
to
do
was
step
through
the
gateway.
I
cannot
explain
what
happened
that
morning,
but
the
experience
helped
me
see
a
bit
more
clearly
what
Jesus
has
done
for
me.
Previously
I
was
separated
from
all
that
is
holy
because
of
my
sinfulness,
but
because
of
Jesus
I
can
now
draw
near
to
the
very
throne
room
of
God
–
“Therefore
let
us
draw
near
with
confidence
to
the
throne
of
grace,
so
that
we
may
receive
mercy
and
find
grace
to
help
in
time
of
need.”
Hebrews
4:16 NASB
Jesus
has
already
opened
wide
the
gates
of
heaven.
By
faith
we
can
have
open
access
to
the
very
heart
of
heaven,
where
God
the
Father
and
His
Son
Jesus
is
seated
–
free,
open
access
–
“nothing
in
the
way”!
This
is
an
amazing
truth,
and
as I
thought
about
it
further
I
realised
that
Jesus,
by
His
Spirit,
could
also
move
freely
between
heaven’s
throne
room
and
my
heart.
In
fact,
He
is
just
as
comfortable
–
just
as
content
– to
be
in
my
heart
as
He
is
to
be
seated
at
the
right
hand
of
the
Father.
My
heart
is
the
dwelling
place
of
God.
Heaven
is
my
home.
“Jesus
replied,
"If
anyone
loves
me,
he
will
obey
my
teaching.
My
Father
will
love
him,
and
we
will
come
to
him
and
make
our
home
with
him.”
John
14:23 NIV
