Song Notes

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  John 8:12 NIV

I don’t usually make a decision to write a song – a new song usually starts overflowing from within me, often if I have been praying. This song followed that pattern.

I actually had set out to prepare my contribution to a Family service that was being planned, but as I started to pray, and I looked to God, I began to praise Him for all that He is to me, and this song took shape.

Whatever difficulties we find ourselves in, whatever pressures we are under, we can find the answer through Jesus. The Bible tells us He is the light, our rock, our fortress, the gate, the good shepherd, the way, the truth, the life and much more – He always has the positive answer to the negative situation – and as we meditate on this more, we can trust Him in all circumstances.

As I sing this song, it reminds me of the faithfulness of my loving God. He has never failed me and I know He never will.
